How are electronic balances calibrated?
Precautions for Electronic Analytical Balance
Electronic analytical balance use to pay attention to what you know? You usually use electronic balance whether to pay attention to these details? Here to see the use of electronic analytical balance precautions.
When using an electronic analytical balance, the following precautions need to be taken to ensure accuracy and extend equipment life:
Environmental conditions:
When using the balance, ensure that the laboratory environment is stable and free from temperature, humidity, air currents and vibration.
Avoid placing the balance in direct sunlight, near heat sources,or in vents.
Placement and Use:
Place the balance on a level surface and make sure it is stable.
When using the balance, avoid direct contact with the weighing pan and use tweezers or other tools to place samples.
Cleaning and Maintenance:
Clean the balance regularly, using a lint-free cloth or special cleaner.
Avoid using volatile solvents to clean the balance as they may damage the equipment.
Calibration and Adjustment:
Calibrate the balance periodically according to the manufacturer’s recommendations and frequency of use.
Recalibrate if the balance moves or environmental conditions change significantly.
Operating Precautions:
Make sure the balance is zeroed before weighing.
Do not weigh overheated samples on the balance as this may damage the weighing pan or affect accuracy.
Avoid weighing corrosive or wet substances on the balance unless a suitable container is used.
Overload Protection:
Do not exceed the maximum weighing capacity of the balance.
If unsure of the weight of a sample, use a larger capacity balance or weigh in batches.
Safe Operation:
Follow all safety procedures when operating the balance.
If the balance malfunctions or is damaged, stop using it immediately and contact a professional for repair.
Records and Documentation:
Record all calibration and maintenance activities to track the performance and maintenance history of the balance.
Other precautions for electronic balance:
(1)The balance room should be kept highly clean, and when cleaning the balance room,it should only be wiped with a damp cloth, never with a soaked cloth.Damp items should never be brought into the room to avoid increasing humidity.
(2)The balance should be cleaned outside at any time,at least once a week.Generally available soft brush, flannel or suede whisked off the dust on the balance, clean attention should not be directly in contact with the balance parts,so as to avoid moisture left in the parts caused by metal oxidation and volume change. Therefore, you should wear gauze gloves or very thin rubber gloves, and follow its metal surface stripes,so as not to damage the finish of the parts. To avoid the retention of harmful substances, the bottom seat should be cleaned immediately after each weighing. The working prongs of the onyx cutter on the crossbeam should be kept highly clean, often using chamois leather to slide back and forth along its prongs and clean them at a slow speed, and the onyx planes of the center cutter bearer and side cutter pads and the onyx bearings of the parts should be cleaned with chamois leather as well. The wall of the damper can be cleaned with a soft brush and chamois leather, and then use 20-30 times magnification to observe whether there is still the presence of fine substances.
(3)in the electronic analytical balance and weights should be placed near the balance and weights of the real difference between the certificate of conformity,in order to measure the necessary data to obtain accurate.
(4)balance glass frame need to put moisture-proof agent, preferably with color-changing silica gel,and pay attention to the replacement.
(5)When moving the electronic analytical balance must be removed beams, lugs and scales.Long-distance moving should also be packed. The outside of the box should be marked with the direction and fragile symbols, and note precision instruments should not be inverted and other words.
Correct usage and precautions are of great significance to ensure the accuracy and stability of electronic analytical balance.Only by strictly observing the operating procedures and paying attention to the maintenance and calibration of the instrument can the reliability of the test results be ensured and provide strong support for the experimental and analytical work.
